tell the wife, she's just jealous of the other woman, the car is your mistress, yes it cost loads, and is only used every once in a while, but every now and then you need to get your kicks. Maybe next time it won't be a car...

"downgrading" is the wrong word, I will change my original post. I love every 993 made! fat, skinny they are all the same to me

As you and others have said though, don't let a car wreck your marriage.

True, but a good divorce lawyer could cost the OP the price of a few thousand 993s

Instead of having a garage queen, show your wife that the car can be very practical. For example like picking up the kids, taking her out on the town in etc. Get your kids driving with you more often so there's a real family link to the car. Drive the car as much as you possibly can!

Good luck.

You have to ask yourself if you are going to feel resentment at 'having' to get rid of the car. That's not good for a marriage either.

How much money will be able to bank if you get rid of the C4S and get a high mileage narrow body? $10k + maybe? If that will make the difference with your spouse, then I guess it is worth it. And you have a 993 to drive, which will reduce the resentment thing.

This is a tough one. Family is most important, for sure.

Best of luck.

I'll ask the not so obvious question.............has she ever driven the thing? Or being a low miler, is it so off limits that there's too much risk involved every time it moves under its own power? Having had a 911 since before I had a girlfriend, I've let any of them drive it.........street, track, wherever. Changed a lot of minds!

Sell the wife, keep the car. It's harder to find a nice low mile C4S than it is to find a women with the same resale point.......

+1.

I am selling the Ruf for my wife's peace of mind. We are not in any financial trouble, and she did NOT demand a sale. Somehow I know she will be happy if the car is sold and cash is in the bank.

I will take a bath at the Rennlist price I posted. Three months already, and not a nibble.

There is a God after all.

Good luck with your family situation. Family ALWAYS comes first.

Does it matter if I don't want you to sell the RUF?

Sorry for the OT....
