+1 I think is only looks semi-awkward b/c it needs proper centercaps.

although I would love a set of our wheels to be displayed on a car at Monterey unfortunately that wouldn’t be possible at this stage.
Oh, well, can't lose something you never had. Special kudos to Mike for an intriguing pursuit.

In the meanwhile, photos of German-made:

FWIW: 19"s on water-cooled...

Some have PMed me, asking about written coverage.
Thanks to a friend whose Porsche they published & now recommends Speedy to them, I just heard from the writer: confirms the magazine's interested. Date TBD; I'm guessing months 'til it may be on the stands.

She's already blushing about her first big interview!

Slightly related to role-model Porschemeister's unique 993 project...

Thumbs up

Regarding ^^ above ^^ mention of Porschemeister:
Heard from Jochen Rohr yesterday.
Update:
His white GT2 will be at The Quail Fri (tomorrow).
His black GT2 will be at Laguna Seca Sat.
Our tongues will be hanging out of our mouths both days!

Jeff-- Greetings from Monterey. Can you make it down for a ride?

Between yours & Porschemeister's achievements, I hope Speedy soon meets her custom wide-body role (roll?) models!

More photos of Speedy in the ongoing "Monterey '09 photo thread: Laguna, Pebble, Quail, etc."

I'll try to summarize / post those & more shots of here. One quick story regarding wheels that RLer J.A.W.S. should be happy to read:
Yesterday, when Sam C. & I showed her to Jerry Seinfeld, he immediately shot out, "Those are my wheels! I have the same wheels on mine." (BTW, his youthful zeal for Porsches is unmistakeable.)

I didn't bore him with the fact that, while designing my Speedster, whenever I didn't have a 100% solid answer, I'd ask, "WWJD ... What Would Jerry Do?" The few photos I've found of his are from the '04 Concours on Rodeo Drive, where he has 993 Turbo Twists. I had no idea he now shares the same hollow-spoke 996 Turbo Twists IIs. Guess I'll hold off on changing wheels ... for a while.

Possibly related?:
A RLer who says he shares social circles with Mr. Seinfeld told me that Jerry scans RL.

If so, ya gotta wonder if the below photo had any influence on the change of wheels....

Jerry's wide rear quarter panels, for example:

^ ^ Related:
One of the many I neglected to keep up-to-date during the Speedster build was Sam Cabiglio, even though he generously shared his advice when I called before the project. Wasn't 'til I told him in person yesterday that he even knew I owned one.

His enthusiastic response: he'd seen it on Rennlist & asked if he could see it in person.
I was surprised when he & another who works with Jerry independently gushed that they noticed Speedy at Tues' Carmel Concours.

A couple of Jerry's friends / staff that are personally familiar with his 993 Speedster relayed, if I recall correctly:
It wasn't originally delivered from the factory as a Speedster. It was sent back with slightly fewer than 1,000 miles, with the request that Porsche convert it.

It has a dark gray soft-top. ('04 Concours on Rodeo Drive photos don't show that.)

More than one of them had driven it!

(Editor's note: The author's a dangerously obsessed 993 Speedster junkie. He passed out after typing the last sentence -- short-circuited at the thought. This serial will continue when he recovers.)
