As if there's any question, you do need a turquoise Speedster & Cactus needs a white/ Can-Can ride. RL also needs at least Black, Arena Red, green, slate gray (& more) 993 Speedies. Heck, let's get another silver if we don't see Jerry's here again.

The cab was GP white, hint hint.

Turquoise Speedy with 3.8 built by 9M, G50/31, and GT2 Speedlines would just about do.

+1 on the bolts, they don't quite "work" on Fuchs, replicas or not.

BTW, had dinner last night with a designer of the '89 Speedsters. In recognition, the factory allowed him the 1st USA 911 Speedster, #20 off the production line. They later presented him with a Speedster book signed by Professor Porsche. When he returns to Stuttgart, etc., those who remember him simply call him "Mr. Speedster."

He was even familiar with the '83 pre-production prototype 911 Speedster I asked him about. Not many know about that:

He saw the 993 at Keystone. Last night, he reiterated what he said 2 weeks ago: that Porsche should have put it on the production line. He was very complimentary. I was very humbled. I should be the one drooling & handing out compliments. ... oh, wait, I was! Nearly a dream come true for this 911 Speedster addict to talk at length with such an authority & expert, who helped design that original widebody 911 Speedster!

Almost gave chills as he talked about Porsche consulting with him about the degree to rake the windshield back, & all the little details that a Speedster geek like me would luv.

IMHO even though only 17", the Fuch type wheels with the hidden bolts would look good on your car. Or even Techart Formulas as they have the look of the Fuchs spokes (ie narrow to wide vs most other weehls that go wide to narrow). Or contact those guys and tell them about your car...once anyone sees 18" Fuchs on your car, they'll sell hundreds of wheels.

David-- Thanks for the tip. I recently attempted to renew contact with a company whom I traded e-mails with a year ago.

Hope the timing's right; maybe new 18" Fuchs, the Speedster & I can all show up at Monterey's Laguna Seca Historics next month. Would be big WOOT!

Like Don P responded, they don't appear to be for 993s. Perhaps '69-86.

If you like the Fuchs look, but want something a little bigger, check out www.psautoart.com. They are a back-dating outfit in the UK that I remember seeing an article about in some 911 mag a while back. They had really cool-looking fuchs-esque wheels. Here's some pics I found:

Scott-- Never thought much about GT3s looking like Fuchs, but I have always thought you have one of the best-looking Porsches ever. Forget about just staying in the 993 realm. All of the options you've chosen somehow combine to make something more substantial than their sum; everything on yours just works -- they come together brilliantly on your 911. Every post I see of yours, I gawk at your avatar. Arena Red's my favorite paint color, so threads like this where you post multiple shots ... it's just beyond words!

Wasn't suprised when you got the best-painted GT3 wheels I've ever seen. Your paint scheme does emphasize their Fuchs resemblance. Congrats on a perfectly gorgeous ride!

Mike-- Very cool website. Didn't know about this company -- thanks for the tip. I dug around for a while, but only found photos of 15-17" wheels. Their brand of wheels seem to be more flattened / 2-dimensional than the pronounced, round edges of Fuchs spokes, but still very cool.

I found mention of optional 18"/19" PS classic style wheels for at least 2 of their 911s. No easily-found pix, so I used the contact form to request more info. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon.

In the meantime, if you can post up photos of 18s or larger, please do. Again: appreciate the link & info.
