Bob,

If you don'n mind my asking... where did you get your plug wires, and how much $$??

Impressive project! I, too, am planning a drop within the next year or so... I'm not far from 60k, and I think dropping the engine is probaby the easiest way to get to everything! I'm lucky though... I have a lift. That should (in theory) make the job a bit easier.

I'm watching this one closely! Thanks for posting!

Hi Patfat, I am finding that I am using the better part of 2 bays. Need to be careful not to spill over into wifeys space

Hi Michael, I purchased most of my parts from http://www.fdmotorsports.net/
Talk with Darin or Mark and they will take care of you. Great guys, great pricing and really know 993s. I can PM you with pricing if you want.

ps a lift would have been really helpful

Hi Edward, Thank you for the kind words. It has been way fun and a bit stressful at times. I've got a lot of work to do ahead of me so this thread should be active for a while.

The support from the forum has been outstanding. This support helps me when I get to thinking that I may have bitten off a little more than........

The car has just shy of 50k miles. I bought it with 44k just about 1 year ago. It is actually in very good condition. I had a light tapping sound ( I thnk/hope it is the valve followers) that initiated the project. It also as a very minor oil leak on one of timing covers. I figured I was close enough to 60k miles, I would go ahead and knock out the 60k service.

And since I have the engine/tranny out....why not install LWFW and new clutch

I have a problem......

Thank you for the tip on he handling of the tranny.

I don't think that it is much noisier, if any at all. I was hoping to add more engine music into the cabin but the difference doesn't seem to be noticable. Like I said, however, the engine bay looks much cleaner without an engine pad hanging down on the ISV and Varioram.

So far, I have added RS motor mounts, LWF, cat bypass, and my own custom open airbox lid and the car still doesn't make enough noise for me. Does sound good though.

Van, If you want more music from your engine bay, check out the Fister Stage II or IIIs. I have Satge IIs and am quite pleased.
