Possible 1998 C4S for sale *** NOW WITH PICS***
1998 C4S
Midnight Blue Metallic
Classic Gray Interior
All Stock - No Mods
6 speed
Big Reds
TT wheels
68K
Service History - How extensive still to be determined by review of receipts
I got a call today from my counterpart I split cars with (we split the buying costs) on a regular basis. There is a 98 C4S with 68K on the clock for sale here in town that we are trying to purchase for resale. As many of you know I deal in cars with and affinity for the Porsche brand (especially the 993 line). about 2 weeks ago we had a a massive rain storm and there was alot of water everywhere especailly in the downtown Louisville area. this car was parked in a garage downown and had water get in it. The water intrusion was not that bad it never went above the seat rails. IT DID GET THE AMPLIFIER, MAIN BRAIN AND ALARM BRAIN. Basicaly any module that was under the drivers or passenger seats was wet from the water. The owner was smart enough to have the car picked up on a flatbed and taken to the shop. All of the computers/modules are being replaced (don't know if they are new or used parts). The claim on the car was never turned in to the insurance carrier, hence my interest in the car. I am thinking of buying the car and selling it for 28K with full disclosure of the water damage. the car is a level 8.5-9.0 with service records (I have not seen them yet, but I was told there was many as the owner had the car for 10 years). at this point I do not know everything done to the car, but I will next week or so. So after this long rant is there any interest at 28K. No real room for negotiations as the profit level is minimal for a quick sale. So the car will have a clean Carfax with 68K, service history, minimal water intrusion with all computers/modules under the seats (drivers/passengers) replaced. So what is your opinion? If it doesn't sell I got a new C4S. Any info. is appreciated. PM me if interested. Like I said the price is the pretty much the price since this is a quick flip. who knows I may not even get the car.
EDIT: PPI's encouraged and welcome blah, blah, blah

Seats work. Carpet have been dried. That's all I have so far. the parts haven't been delivered yet so all systems can't be checked. I will try and post pics on Friday. If I get the car done I'll be happy to throw a squirrel in we have enough of the little boogers down here.

$28K for a 98 C4s with 68K? Sounds like a good deal IF it is determined that the water damage is considered superficial. Considering 1 owner for the last 10years helps.
MY 96' has 65K. Just thinking about this price as a comp makes me want to puke..
