It was the problem w/ mine when I replaced it the first time, it wasn't positioned correctly. I just removed it again, then rotated it slightly while applying light pressure and felt the indent where it should go in. Pushed it all the way in and WaLa, the light worked.

Thanks Bill. I'll keep trying. Maybe my big old clumsy fingers just can't feel it. I'll have the boy do it for me

keep in mind, that the readily available bulb at autoparts stores may be a hair too big. I bought one at napa, and it didn't fit.

Bought the double pack at NAPA, mine fit when I positioned it correctly.

I got a pack that says: Sylvania 74LL 14v, 1.4w. It sure looks like the original, but I can't make it go. Can somebody tell me where other than NAPA?

I changed mine out to get it working.....and once working, it is the MOST ANNOYING THING while driving at night because you will see the lighted headlight **** in your side mirror. VERY DISTRACTING. There were others in the past who did this and reported the same thing. I didn't believe it and had to find out for myself.

Now I feel better. This has been on my to do list for over 5 years.

If you look carefully there is an indent to align. From memory it's at the bottom. Once aligned it just pushes back on.

I got my bulb from the porsche dealer here and it was cheap. No reason to buy from a third party IMO.

I got Sylvania 37 (same size as 73 and 73, they are called T1 3/4" bulbs). It is, indeed, bigger than original and doesn't seem to fit.

What's funny, it fit ashtray socket just fine and works there.

What the Porsche part number on these?

I found that the easiest way to align the **** was to turn the headlights on before pulling the **** off because the light rays of the light bulb symbol point downward when the lights are on.

Hey guys, I just changed my bulb and started the car and all is well. Then I backed out of my garage and I noticed my passenger rear tire was flat and had a giant knife stuck in it. Do you guys think that changing the bulb did this? If so...how do I fix?

Yo Wetoddid: pack up all your s**t and move quickly under the cover of darkness, or confess to you wife that you did a "Tiger" on her and hope your other tires are the only things that gets stabbed!!!

There's another thread regarding this same subject though this one is the longer of the two. There's a rumor of a group buy on these on the other thread?
