Hi guys. Ill throw in a few others. These werent the best.
Tailpipes are factory motorsound. Ive had them 10 years and love them. Expensive (although half the price they are now at the time) but give alot of visual satisfaction and make the factory pipes look cheap and small in comparison.

Hi Macca,
Amazing car and fantastic narrative! Truly inspirational. I've just bought my first Porsche, 1995 993 Cab tip, midnight blue a couple months ago and am starting to look into improvements. The first thing I would like to do is improve the exhaust. Have you sold your RSR mufflers? I'd also like to improve the instrument gauge lights to LED. Did you have to solder the LEDs yourself or are there plugins. With regard to the Xenon conversion of the main headlights is it a plugin job or is there wiring etc? Thanks!
Eric

Hi Eric
Thanks and congrats on your new purchase. I bought my 993 as my first Porsche 12 years ago. Ive owned many other Porsches along the way (some faster, some more powerful and some more expensive), but I suspect this 993 may in the end also be my last 911 LOL!
I still have the RSRs although they need some cleaning up.
The LED lights are plug and play for all but the center lower console switches (Spoiler, warning lamp etc). Basically all the main instrument ones are plug ins. A search on rennlist will tell you the latest and greatest source. I started with omni directional blue white ones 7 years ago but as the technology advanced changed over to multi directional warm white ones two years ago. Every bulb in the car except the brake lights and indicators are now LED or HID.
Again back in the day when I did the headlights the ballasts were larger Philips metal boxes that had to be mounted outside the headlight bucket and required wiring. Although I still believe these are the more reliable solution for $120 USD you can now get very small light weight ones with digital ballasts. I used these for my Techart fog lights and they have been reliable so far. They can be mounted inside the headlight bucket and this no wiring is required its pretty much plug and play.
Best of luck with the 993. Its a great car! Great colour too :-)
Thanks

Macca, after 12 months it's time for an update, CF door panels, big reds, strut bace and other go faster bits you have done. Don't worry mate I won't tell the wife.
I have been lucky enough to drive this car twice, once on the track where I managed to spin it (a full track day had cooked the road tires) and once on a country road for about 100 miles, where I managed to get a decent speeding ticket......
It is a truly well sorted car that is loud and growls from the outside but surprisingly quiet inside and civil to drive. This car is an experience and the pic's can't do justice.

Gorgeous car Macca.
Fellow Kiwi now living in the UK. If any of you guys ever need a hand with sourcing parts from Europe that won't ship to NZ, I`m more than happy to help you out eg ship to me and I`ll send on.
I`ll be bringing my 98 993 C4S back to NZ at some time in the future and seeing the current prices of parts in NZ i`m planning on stocking up big time before I come. Fortunately I have a few more years to keep building up the collection.

Hi Olly. Thats a gracious offer and thanks very much. You should check out our NZ chapter forum thread elsewhere on RL as it may be of some interest when the time comes closer for you to return. Would be great to have another 993 on the team!
As Kiwi 911 says I need to update this thread badly as the 993 has really moved on in the last year. A few sneak peaks below but I will in the New Year find the time to put together the 20+ additional modifications to the car since this was updated, these include RS/Turbo brake upgrade, RS front uprights and tie rods, Rennline heime jointed rear toe arm links, Monoballs, Rennline camber plates, Full RS CF door cards, colour coded custom Heigo half cage, Three piece strut brace, RS washer bottle conversion, RS front trunk carpet set and many more goodies...

Just when you think your car is almost perfect you managed to find lots more to do. RS door cards look sweet. Are they from
Marcus? I've got a few Carbon bits and saving for some more. Will check out the NZ section.

Olly. Yes Marcus! I have been buying CF from him for 10 years since before he spoke English (my wife speaks German so she used to interpret with him over the phone!). I think now I have around 32 of his pieces on the car!
My Aussie front on Canada! Been meaning to PM you. Your 993 sounds like the mutts nuts with that new donk. I really need to know more about it as doing the engine properly on my 993 is on the list (Ive been considering drop shipping it to Rothsport for one of their eotic upgrades when I win Lotto!). I dont get your US Panorama Magazine (or was it Excellence) but surely would appreciate if you could email me the series - I think you have my email if not Ill PM you). Really love to read that!
Heres a few of the new girl today. 993 has company! There really isnt a bad angle with the new GT3 and shes a magic bus alright but my 993 is definitely not being sold!

Beautiful 993! It turned out great...tastely modded
Is that Marble Grey interior color?
One thing that made me think about RHD cars or at least these 993's is that the driver doesn't have foot rest...too bad

P.s. let me know when you are back to normality (on the rock sitting in a hammock under a palm tree dreaming up your next Pcar adventure), so I can get your help with developing a plan for my (new to me) 993.
