The "anniversay" script (in my opinion) is the ONLY thing that looks fussy. I would leave everything else well alone!

Seriously nice 993.

It's always great to see this level of enthusiasm in 993 owners. This beautiful machine is at home in your wonderful country. Nice work!
Cheers,
Bob

Hey Macca, your previous post on this "makeover" idea inspired me to begin thinking about my 5-years-of-ownership makeover, which would be 2011. So, again, thank you.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words. It is great when you have something you know you will keep for a long time. You can take your time and play with ideas, tweak things and slide the slope when and if you can justify it over time. Makes no sense on any other level other than personal gratification (as per the title of the post). Its a great place this and Im always reading up on how various members have become "experts in their field" and puched the envelope in creating and implimenting new ideas. Without this board successful modifcation in far flung places would be difficult (read near impossible)....

Great to see the work and effort you put into the car

If you ever get across "the ditch" to Sydney there's a 993 here that I would pick your brains over the do's and dont's form your experience

Hi Mark,

I do get over annually but usually to QSLD. However I would be more than happy to give you some help/advice next time im in NSW.

For many of the things you see on the car there are often one or two other items I have tried first but removed because they werent up to scratch or I didnt like the compromise.

Im pretty commited and not afraid to dump something or reverse a proceedure Ive done if after trying it for a while i dont like it. Lifes too short. Im trying the Dach X catless pipes with my RSRs in August and the CF RS heater bypass pipe when I have the alternator far removed, re bearinged and repainted/colour coded. Im interested to see if ill find the sound too loud. If theres a big compromise with the HVAC system after the RS bypass pipe I wont hestitate to reverse it as my wife simply wont tollerate the car with less facilities than its already got (over the years it sounds louder, rides harder and lower but its crept up on her and shes hardly noticed - however remove the a/c air stream and it will all be over LOL!). We love to take an annual trip around the country togther in this car and I wouldnt want to spoil that tradition as the cars been part of our lives from the beginning. So my lightening efforts are having to be applied more covertly. Not sure what will happen if I go for RS style bucket seats :-).

I guess Im saying Ive dne a fair bit of playing around with improvements and mods on teh thing and Id be more than happy to share what I have learned...

Cheers
M
