car is a true C4S, a solid driver that a very knowledgeable rennlister looked at for me. the fact that I'm on the opposite coast-considering a $2K+transport cost, was a nail in the coffin for me with this car.

I will pm you later this afternoon with more info about the car.

Car runs fantastic- PPIs welcome!

The car is a 1996 Carrera 4S, aka C4S.

I dont understand why you would think it is not actually.
Nonetheless- it can be verified.

Well- it is technically 'Schwartz Black.'

I don't know the seller, or if the car has any issues or not, but I sure would be pissed if fellow RLers were trying to sink the sale of my car by mis-stating that it's not a C4S, which the seller says it is, and by saying the car is not the color the seller states it is.

Lots of armchair experts on here, but at least let's not make what look like ignorant statements without good reason or providing concrete evidence that is contrary to what the seller states, shall we?

What? And not exercise our rights to broadcast our ignorance? That's downright unAmerican and violates every purpose of an internet forum.

OP- I assume means 'original post' in forum slang.

The car is a true Carrera 4S -vin# WP0AA299XTS320952
-though I have no idea why anyone thought otherwise, maybe the rear badge delete?

The car is actually a 3 owner car, though it does show the car was re- titled in multiple states.
Owner 1 bought the car in Southern California at dealership, moved to Arizona and took the car with him.

Owner 2 bought the car from a resale lot in Arizona as a 1 owner car, brought it back to California, to Dana Point.
Owner 2 also had a home in Hawaii, and had the car shipped there for about a year while he lived there.
Owner 2 then brought the car back to his Orange County residence, and had to have the Top End work ect done to pass CA emissions, then re-registered it in California.
Kids were entering college ect, so he decided to sell the car.

I am owner 3, purchasing the car about 3.5 years ago out of Orange County,
CA with the car having new valves and guides, new clutch and Pressure plate- work completed and documented by Performance Haus in Dana Point CA.

Car is my 3rd 993 widebody car,my 7th Porsche and is not my daily driver.
Its mechanically excellent and shows very well.
For sale only to change up the Toy bin.

I sure wish I'd waited a year and a bit to get my second 993. This is a smokin deal on a beautiful widebody WITH THE TOPEND ALREADY DONE!

Thanks guys =)

-you had me goin there.... especially on the black.

Its a very good car- sure there are lower mile ones to be had for a good more coin.......
But this car can be taken and enjoyed -drive it, park it, whatever... guilt free.
What shoppers need to watch out for is the mid mileage cars- as the carfax on mine shows it started failing CA Smog emissions when it hit 60k.
Would not be fun to get a car and have to dump $10-12k into it to get current tags before you could enjoy it.

Also- ive heard of the short lived injector change trick, to pass... but does not last.
Top end is the only real lasting cure.

Cheers.

I looked at the car for Joe. Fine car for where it is in the overall picture; good, knowledgeable owner who was nice to talk with for an hour or so. If you want a car in this color and price range, I'm satisfied the seller will be very upfront about any questions you will have.

Do you mean new valves and guides or were the pistons replaced too?

I figured that right off. Thought it was funny and also sarcastic in a productive way: THIS IS A C4S IN BLACK
