Default A/C Repair Recommendation needed in Ft. Lauderdale Area

The A/C has worked intermitantly well in my 95 cab for several years. I would like to solve this problem once and for all, but my main guy can't seem to get it right. I need a solid recommendation for someone who knows how to work on these cars' A/C. Thanks in advance.

Chris,

Thanks for responding. The A/C just isn't cold. It cools down some, but not like it used to. I don't get any condensation from the drain anymore. I suspect a leak. A/C is not my forte, I had a bunch of A/C work done to this car several years ago, including the gas tank removal and having the evaporator upgraded. I just need to get it in, my guy is really good, but A/C isn't his thing either. I need a good shop that can diagnos what's really wrong and finally get it fixed. I never feel any difference between regular A/C, A/C high, and the A/C recirc. I never hear any of the exterior fans blowing on the coils, etc... It's a great car, has always been a great car, but this A/C problem has got to be solved. At one point near the end of a trip between Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando on a very humid night last summer the A/C actually shut off. After parking the car it worked fine the next day. I suspect it froze up on the highway. Any help woud be appreciated.

Also, at some point in the past it seems the compressor threw off some oil from the pulley? I cleaned up some oil in the engine compartment with a spray pattern which seemed to indicate it came from the compressor pulley area.

Try Gulf Performance in Fort Laud/Pompano area they are Porsche only type of place.
Sounds like you pop the front seal on the compressor to start with.
Vertex in Miami may have the compressor for less $$
Good luck, let me know how you end up, Chris
