I believe its the cross-bracing in the shell and multicolored center cushion. Also, I thought the factory pieces had the crest embossed on the headrest.

I priced GT2 seats some time ago and the quotes I was getting was $5-6k through dealers/retailers.

Me thinks the Pole Position, at least it's base, is a wee bit wider than the OEM RS and Speedster versions. Bill Verburg seems to be an expert on this.

What I want: RS or Pole Positions recovered in midnight blue leather with navy blue (lower cushion) and white (upper cushion) leather as the accent colours. Hmmmmm......

Once again, I hate this thread.

The lower cushion is supported by webbing. Leather is also perforated in areas.

Here's my buddy's seat that I just spent a lot of time in - pretty similar to the manual 993 softbacks and fantastic!

+1 for the softback sport seats!

I just installed these and am very happy with the overall performance so far. I was hoping to find some with the 993 stitching but cashmere sport seats seem to be more rare than hen's teeth. These are out of an early 968 and have supple leather that is in phenomenal shape. Didn't care for the black piping at first but it is growing on me, or I no longer notice it. They are very comfortable, very supportive, and actually quite easy to get in and out of. The only down side is that they sit 1/2" - 1" higher than the standard seat.

Rob-- Good answers already posted above. I'm a little late to this party, but if ya like pitchers, see the following images.

I shared the below graphic on the first page of this thread, but here it is from its orginal context, discussing Pole Positions vs. OEM RS seats on the "ISO RS Seats, doors, and matter cage" thread:

^^However, the one on the left appears to be an OEM Speedster seat, not the "RS" as its labeled above...
(from the "Speedster type 993 photo thread"):

From 2007's Source for RS Seats (993/964) thread:

From '07 Pelican Parts post on their WTS: 964 Speedster (or RS?) Seats thread, comparing Speedster seats to Recaro Pole Positions:
Don't know about the RS seats but the Speedster seats are a little bit wider than the off the shelf Recaro's. They also has a spring system in the bottom.
Recent photos in Pelican's F/S : RARE PORSCHE (euro) 1992 Carrera RS leather buckets thread:

Here is a pic of the rear of the seats.. the black is the RS and the white is the Speedster.. note they are NOT the same seat.... they're very diff.
