Default Ok I give up.

Can any one tell me what the two small red lights are on either side of my tachometer? Theres no mention in the owners manual.

I've looked at numerous 1995 cab dashboards online and none seem to have them. On page 360 on the 993 Essential guide theres is a pic of one but its only on the left side.

Help!

Not stock. Probably some sort of out-dated radar detector or car alarm...

Those LED are not OEM. That's aftermarket. Most likely the car had or has a radar detector that was installed "stealth" and those were the warning lights.

Ok.. I have this as well and it shows a date of 2003. However, it couldn't detect a police station 5 ft away.

Does anybody know if you can buy an updated unit and just swap out the detectors?

Could they be converted into some sort of F1-style up-shift indicator?

A friendly tip -- You should try some Aerospace 303 on your gauge rings. Use liberally and wipe the oxidation off with a microfiber and the rings will start to soak it up -- then a time or two later and all of a sudden they'll look brand new. Or at least that was my experience. Really makes a nice difference for the dash. If you don't have any 303 send me a PM and I'll send you some. Cheers.

You will have a two way dial on the left switch blank near your column to control it or some times it is cut into the blank on your center counsel switch tray. There are two black boxes, one probably screwed to your heater blower on the motor and the other tucked in the front bumper.

It's a good system. We installed them on about 25% of the new 993's.

You can learn all about it by searching Caliber K-40 on the net.

Yes, mine had a red light like that installed near the ignition switch and a ganged **** in the defroster/lighter cluster. Defunct by the time the car reached me - the detector in the rear was a molten mass of junk.
