Am I crazy? I need some reasons why I shouldn't sell my 993...

If money is no object, fill your boots.
Unless you plan to drive it till it dies (25 years), I'd hate to take the hit in depreciation and if it is winter driven, it will depreciate even faster.
Where can you use 414 HP? We can have our cars confiscated were we live just by doing less than redline in 3rd in our 993s.
If I had bought a Nissan 370Z when I bought my 993 a year ago, I would have lost $15K by now....plus the Z doesn't do a thing for me.

And if you have another beater as a daily driver, insurance for the 993 for use as a pleasure vehicle will be peanuts. $850/yr for my A3 DD vs $420/yr for the 993 with agreed value.

Hmmm. I have a reputation for being "car-sick"...meaning, everyone I know thinks I buy too many cars. It is true. But, I have had lots of fun and learned much about a wide variety of cars.
My last car was a 996 turbo X50...tons of power, great reliability and comfortable. Kind of like a newer B-mr. I had that car 3 MONTHS! Why? Because what I really wanted was a car with soul..
If you need a car with more seats and alot of power, buy Older. I think the 993 trumps almost anything I have owned on 4 wheels. Still, personal choices are personal. If you need to move on, then...
(but we hope you stay in the club!)

wow.. andy, you went from the X50 996TT to the 993? That says alot. I must say that car might be one car that would tempt me from the air cooled p cars

In spite of my emphatic tone, the 996 turbo was an incredible car and totally worthy...but during my 996 ownership I drove a 993...and, I just had to have it!
I put my turbo up for sale the next week. But hey...that's me, and why I am here.

I know it's not a popular idea but I have been driving my '95 year round since new in rain, sun, snow, no matter.
The car shows wear and tear but I have enjoyed every minute of every drive, no regrets.
I say drive it; comes the day when it looks so shabby you can't stand it, re-build or sell it and buy one that wasn't driven much.
You might be money ahead, considering the depreciation of a $$$ Bimmer or equal.

I was thinking of replacing my 40K 96 cab for a new BMW M3 coupe. The BMW will be:
• Daily driven
• winter driven
• Practical hauler (Room for booster seat)
• One of the fastest machines on the road (414hp)
Reasons why not to sell it:
• Fun in the sun
• The rarity of the 993
• Air cooled bliss
Please provide more pros and cons for my decision.

BMWs are okay but I am not that impressed by them - definatly not the Ultimate Driving Machine.
