How can I figure out if my paint is single stage or not?

I think the only non-metallics that aren't cleared are white and black, and I'm not even sure about those either. It's an easy test - just take a piece of terry cloth or whatever and rub vigorously on the under side or your gas flap and if you get colour, then it's single stage. Easy peasy.

Hey Sully...
IIWM, I would forget this investigation; what will it do but cause some (perhaps imperceptible) damage to your car finish.
It is virtually certain your car is single stage paint; most pastel colors of the era were. Enjoy your ride.

haha... love the controversy... no one knows!
the buffer pads looked like blood after polishing my guards red car, there is no doubt that was single stage... we'll see on the turquoise blue

since you are talking so much smack (which I have been ignoring for awhile), where were you this morning? Missed you at Dallas Cars and Coffee with the other 300+ cars. Sleeping in?
