ULTIMATE 993 Snub

Rarely see '3s around here to wave at. Nobody in 6's or 7's wave so I quit trying. It's partly due to there being so many p-cars in town that they're about as common as Honda accords everywhere else. And then theres the everpresent snob factor. There's a tangible sense that people think: My car is newer and more expensive, I'm not waving to a lower class peasant who cannot afford a new one! Or they just don't have clue and might just as well have purchased an AMG merc or M series bimmer. Growing up back east, 911s were rare (this was way before boxsters, even 944's 928's had not been produced yet). Virtually every p-car was a 911 and they waved or flashed. It was strangely cool.

There's no color lines for me when it comes to Porsche. I will gladly say hi even if you had a pink one. LOL The fact is we all are enthusiasts when it comes to our PCar. We owned it with pride and joy. Maybe the driver of the particular 993's had a bad day. Who knows but I think he's rude though not to even acknowledge. Owning a PCar comes along with the comradery, it's a respect when you see another on the road. I guess some people just don't know what that is anymore or care about it. Just my 2 cents....

I don't have porsche right now but I do cycle a lot. There used to be a wave thing between all bicyclists...
not sure how it all started.... but now if you wave to a fellow rider, you get about 50% of the people waving back.....
Same phenomenon..... it's not about cars, it's about people.

Seems like there are still a few hold out "rich guy" non-enthusiast original owners like Keanu and Heather Locklear running around in 993s. One day they'll all be gone and mutual enthusiast waving will resume reliably.

Some people are Porschephiles. Others just want to be seen driving a Porsh, like the lady selling the purple cab on eBay.

Very unpredictable when/where/what model of other Porsche driver will give/return a wave. I've been waved at by Boxster and 997 owners in California (more Porsches than I've ever seen in one region) and ignored by a 964 owner in southeastern BC (most definitely NOT Porsche central). Different levels of enthusiasm for their car I guess.

Happened to me in a parking lot. Pulled in to a convenience store and parked right beside a speed yellow Cab and I was beside myself to see another 993 in my town like 2 years into owning mine. Pull in but he is messing with his mp3 player so he doesn't look up......I walk up beside him and say nice car....he looks at me like I have a ***** coming out of my forehead....I point to my car....he looks at it......oh yeah he mumbles......I walk away thinking what a StrekStrekStrekStreking tool! Turns out he is a local doctor......
Speaking of which, are you going to have someone look at your *****?
