Every Wednesday and Friday I drive my 97 993 S to work, this has been going on now for over a year. I never drove it before that because I didn't like the parking situation - but now we have a parking garage and I have an assigned space on the far right (no driver door to hit me).

So, today on the way home I see distinctive 993 lights behind me and after a moment I wave to say Hey. I don't see any kinda wave back...well maybe he didn't see me.

So then traffic opens up and I get over, so does he, I get over again and let the 993 pass me and the driver didn't even look over! He was driving an Iris Blue "S" also!

At this point, to be candid, I'm thinking "What the hell". Then I get along side again and the driver is looking straight away, and doesn't even look over!

So I pass him and continue on my merry way.

Feel free to share your story of being snubbed by a 993 'brother/sister'.

Anyway, I thought this was the pinnacle of the Porsche snub.

I wonder if that person is on the board...Hergesheimer license plate frame and fellow 993 Porsche snubber!

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was driving downtown and I see a wide *** with bugeyes in my rearview mirror. Turns out to be a 930 and he was right beside me at the light. I'm looking over at him expecting a nod or a wave and got nothing. He didn't even look over!!! I know its a 930 vs a 993 but you'd think there would be a wide *** connection!

I was getting gas for my '87 Carrera at a station a while back and a guy in a 911 pulled in at the pump right next to me. I figured he'd strike up a conversation with me but never even looked at me or my car. But he was driving a 996 so he probably didn't even realize my car was a Porsche

I almost always get a wave from an air-cooled owner, but most water-cooled owners don't have a clue.

Happened to me in a parking lot. Pulled in to a convenience store and parked right beside a speed yellow Cab and I was beside myself to see another 993 in my town like 2 years into owning mine. Pull in but he is messing with his mp3 player so he doesn't look up......I walk up beside him and say nice car....he looks at me like I have a ***** coming out of my forehead....I point to my car....he looks at it......oh yeah he mumbles......I walk away thinking what a StrekStrekStrekStreking tool! Turns out he is a local doctor......

Seldom get a return wave here down under, especially from anyone driving water cooled P-cars.

I still wave, must be a habit, I find myself waving to P-cars even when in the Honda.

Happens to me every day. I pass a 997 yellow cab each day and never get a wave back. I have stopped waving at them now. Maybe they think I am being them and they are not waving. What to do???

As for the 993s, they all wave or flash ..... the lights.

Funny thread. You must have felt so rejected.
I look and wave at all the older 911's and it's rare not to get a wave back.
