Life begins at 150K! Once you hit that number, it ain't worth nothing, so you get to drive a 911 every day ...forever! Not a bad fate.

That is really awesome.

I'm also glad to know my driver's side window motor will last until about 497,370mi...

One thing I can't figure out is why the FMS and VC gaskets are leaking if he just had it rebuilt 1000 miles ago. Well, whatever the PO had been doing to the car certainly didn't hurt.

Richard Drew, keep driving your 96 C4 Cab! Might need to drive it more to keep pace to this guy
Who is Richard Drew? I am Richard E. W.
I have only replaced the alternator, clutch, and last week the front bumper cover, and the driver's side window switch, and the head unit (x5), and the amplifier (x4). Hopefully the body shop is done and I can pick my car up today and continue driving. That car has been driven 26,000 miles/year for 20 years! That's amazing. I don't put on my Blizzaks on anymore so no more road trips in the winter.

I wonder what kind of tires were used? If MPS2s that's one heck of a lifetime tire tab!

I hope he never has to replace the speedometer/odometer. The novelty would be over then.

Read it. Odometer rebuilt recently.

I note that within a few miles he put in big end bearings and resealed the engine, yet the front seal leaks now.

This implies to me that the non moving parts (block) has gotten out of spec. High intensity engines are NOT the same as the engine in a Volvo 1800. The entire car and engine, at this point, are both tired and fatigued out of spec.

Neat to see this but it belongs in a museum now rather than the road. This one will demand $2,000 every two months from now until the next guy gets tired of it.

impossible to determine if the block is out of spec or whether the seal was imperfect or install was not perfect. There are any number of reason why the seal could be leaking.

I agree it will be an expensive endeavor to keep this car going though.

Sure, impossible to say for sure, but I'll not bet my $18k on the block being in spec after half a million intense miles. Would you?

I probably would, but I do think the price is high.

You also don't know if the miles were "intense" or not.
