Default Best car cover

Who makes a good fitted car cover for the nb 993?

Usual suspects like California car cover only have generic covers for the size of the car. Checked with local porshce dealer and thy said the factory 993 cover is no logger avail.

Sometimes the factory cover comes up on the bay. I got mine from an auction that was run by an AD in Florida (suncoast?). Might give them a call o check. It fits like a glove and looks good.

We've been over this many times before. Do a search on here for car covers. Many have their favorites but depends on your specific needs. Mine is COVERKING STORMPROOF. Custom fits like a proverbial glove, color choices, virtually waterproof, doesn't scratch.

I have a one of the good streachy ones and it scratches the rear fender arches. I think I am going to go to Targ'et and get some flannel sheets.

Gert at www.carnewal.com sells IMHO the best fitted car cover.
IIRC, There have been a couple of group buys over the years.

As an alternative, contact Jeff Clark at Sunset Imports. He can order you the Tequipment Euro spec indoor fitted car cover ( has colored Porsche crest).
I have these on my wifes 983 Targa and I have one on my 996 Turbo and 968 Cab.

Either one is an excellent fitted soft indoor car cover.

"Best"? I don't know; I haven't tried them all.

But the Satin Stretch custom car cover that I bought from Coverking is a perfect fit and the quality is first rate. This is an indoor, ultra soft cover.

I bought mine discounted from AutoAnything. They have a 15% off and free shipping offer at the moment.

So much depends on what you are going to use it for. I keep my Porsches covered when parked in the garage and use one of the covers that Gert sells. (Photo below)

I bought what I thought would be the same type for the Boxster from Covercraft and got a very nice cover but with a lot of seams. A lot. Both are form fitting and do the job.

I used the OEM silver ones for years on my cab and found that the top of the fenders were getting small scratches. If you do a goggle search or Rennlist search, you'll be busy for hours. Good luck.

I've got the same cover for my '87 Carrera. The fit is perfect. It isn't quite as waterproof as I thought it would be, but pretty good.

+1 for Gert's. You can wash it and dry it no probs. You can even put it on when the car is cooling down (over the exhaust tips) no issues or worry about burn marks. Had mine for 4 years, washed it 5-6 times. Expensive sure, but it's covering your car...

I have the factory PORSCHE silver guard which has worked will both indoor/outdoor for the past 4 years. Fits nice, doesn't blow off, repels water well. Has flannel on the inside where the fenders are which can collect dirt, but easy to wash periodically. My car is just getting tucked away in the garage now with the cover on for the winter. WHat I also like is how quickly it dries after a rain when it's used outside.

You may want to check Automotion (no affil) as I see it advertised in their catalog.

I've had the factory Porsche euro covers on my cars for years with no problems. I paid around $250 a long time ago from Sunset. Its made by the same suppiler as Gerts covers, Andrea (Italy)

Chuck, any chance of a close-up pic of the inside of Gert's cover? What material is used or is it the same as the outside?

Before making my purchase, I did ask Coverking how many panels were used and all 5 of them run lengthwise: 1 top, 2 sides and 2 very narrow panels between the sides and top. They could have made it from 3 panels, but cost would probably have been a factor. No big deal and an extremely nice cover for $250.
