Default Hershey is scheduled

The date can't come soon enough for me. Hope many of us can get together-park together-drink together, etc. Not neccisarily in that order mind you. I'll be staying overnite somewhere again.

Joy!

First post here!

I will soon be in the market for a C4 (possibly C4S) and I live in central PA. Would this be a good event to find such a car?

Haven't been in a 3-4 years, but was there the 3 years prior. The sale lot was full of throw aways each year if I remember correctly.

Rennlist is a good start if you are looking for a 993

It's hit or miss every year. Sometimes, there are gems and there are also a lot of turds.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I have been keeping an eye on Rennlist and eBay. It would be nice, however, to see some examples in person before becoming serious about a certain car.

Hershey is great for meeting some of the characters from this site...that's for sure. It's also a great place to see lots of Porsche's, I bet there was 30+ 993's there last year.

If your in the 993 market, might I respectfully request the follwing;
1-become a member of this site, it'll be the best Porsche money-value per buck, that you will spend.
2-let this group know your desires(993 wise)color's preferred/options/intended use-DD or Garage queen, and especially price range. The power of the entire Porsche specific WWW is right here.
3-expand your car search, Pelican, Craigslist, Autotrader, Cars.com, as well as hi end dealers, etc,etc,etc
4-Learn as much as you can about the cars-the search function here is your friend.

Good luck!

I used to fly out and go to this when it was held at the Ski-Roundtop ski resort and I was collecting parts to restore a Pre-A Speedster. It was like a crack-fest for Porsche junkies. There was always big crowds of people from Germany buying up bargains and one guy that used to wander around with a satchel full of money and hand-pulled wagon, buying up rare parts for Spyders with $100 bills ... What a show.

I know personally and from a lot of other people I talk to there is mostly junk for sale at Hershey. Don't know if the selection is better for older parts or what? I just enjoy seeing ll the cars in the lot, meeting everyone, and hanging out.
