Default PPI in Bellevue for a 95c4

I am interested in a 95 c4 in Bellevue, Washington. Anyone know any reputable mechanics to do a ppi in that area? I am in nyc and need some good eyes to check out a car.

thanks,

Jon

Chris's German Auto Service in Bellevue and Redmond European in nearby Redmond are both great shops. I wouldn't hesitate to use either one for a PPI initiated from across the country.

Squire at Squires for the PPI
Doug at Tru-line for the frame
Either of the above could give you an idea as to the paint, but if you're concerned; Mark at Eurotech or Zac at Haury's or John/Ben at Metropolitan Detail

I second Chris German Auto Service. Chris Powell is the guy, a National PCA Tech committee member, and an all around great guy.

Early in my search, I was arranging a PPI for mechanicals and body/paint for a car available near him. He spent LOTS of time with me on the phone, answering many stupid questions. I also talked at length to another fellow named John there-both very genuine, very passionate, very memorable conversations.

Chris knows these cars well, and will be more than honest and fair.

Good luck, and let us know how you do.

You have lots choice in this area!

-1 for Squire's. The PPI on my previous car was done by Squire's. Based on that PPI and subsequent services I would not recommend doing business with him. PM me for details if you're seriously considering going there.

+1 for Redmond European. I've had work done by Redmond Euro on my Audi and based on that experience I wouldn't hesitate to go there for a PPI.

Chris' has a great reputation but I haven't had any work done by them.

When I sold my last car the buyer wanted the PPI done at Barrier, and I was surprised at how thorough and courteous they were. They did a good job with the PPI (unfortunately finding a number of things my PPI did not). I think their staff turnover is higher than the indies so I don't know if you'd get the same techs as I did, but it's at least another option.

Finally, if you want to head a bit west you should consider Aker's.

+1 for Eurotech if you want the body and paint inspected.

+1 for Chris's German auto. I had my ppi done there and some additional work done there as well. They were willing to let me watch the work being done and answer all my questions.

Living in Seattle, Aker's Porsche has taken care of my cars for many years. I'm sure any of the eastside shops mentioned in the previous posts can provide equal service in a PPI. I'm sure there are any number of us 993 owners here that wouldn't mind checking out a perspective car for you. Good Luck!

I use Redmond Euro, both for PPi's & service. Never steered me wrong, & they even found me, my 95 C4.

The other places listed are also good, yes, we are very lucky to have so many great shops in the area!

Wow! Thank you for all the responses. Bellevue area seems like the place to be if you are a Porsche lover. Most of you seem to favor Chris's german auto so i am going to see if he has time check the car out this week.

You were right. I've seen Stealth Mike post about Redmond Euro for awhile now and finally made the switch. Very glad I did.
