I will fit just fine, but the display angle can't change. I have the cassette version (using an iPod with it), and it's hard to see in broad day light, but since all I need is the volume button I don't care. If you listen to radio, CDs, etc. you may want to see first if you're comfortable with the level of light coming from the screen.

It will kinda fit - but you will have to discard the metal 'cage' that the OEM radio uses as the CDR 220 is a little larger. Also you might find it won't fit flush against the dash, and will protrude a quarter inch or so. Some will tell you it just requires messing around with the wires at the back to get it in that last bit, but I could never make mine fit and was always unhappy with the way it looked. I ended up going back to the 210.

My CDR 220 is flush. It's a tight fit without the cage. The crt can be converted to adjust for the glare issue. Use mine with an ipod setup which works great. The radio reception is poor and only picks up very local stations.

You need to send the unit to Becker for that:

They be able to make the changes and have the iPod wiring, etc.

It's the faceplate that is the issue and Becker will sell you a new one that will work for the 993. There's no need to send them the whole headunit. Ipod connectivity is just a plug in adapter that Becker should be able to sell you as well. Note that if you use the ipod adapter it plugs in the space for the optional trunk mounted CD changer so it's an either/or proposition. One thing I've noted about the faceplate for the 993, if you wear polarized sunglasses you'll find the unit is hard to read unless you lean toward the center of the car. Not a big deal but a definite annoyance.
