Default car weight

My 911 has been on a diet for the past 8 years. I have owned it for 12 years. Well, I finally put it on the scale.
1/4 tank of gas, my small 17" rims, and lots of things removed.

I'd LOVE to try a 993 that lost ~300lbs.

My car's down to the same weight. RS seats, carbon fiber hood, backdated the lower dash, no power steering, deleted the rear seats, RS heater bypass, etc -- but kept the rest of the HVAC. That plus the RS flywheel and RS gearbox makes it a really, really fun car. Highly recommended. The 993 really comes alive with lower weight. I wish there was some way to keep it streetable but drop more weight, but there really isn't.

Keep working boys; the RS certified weight was 1278 (2811) kgs and mine was lighter than that. Think it was with a 3/4 of a 90 liter big tank IIRC. Alu hood and rear deck lids helped, remove hood cylinders etc..

Monique. You have a very light one. Of the three Ive seen on teh scales my 993RS was teh heaviest at 1328kg (has confort spec seats and a/c and electric windows) and the lightest was a NZ new Stripped version at 1292kg (retained air con only). No one ordered them without aircon downunder for obvious reasons. measurements were taken using 74?l tank as RHD had normal size tank.

Ive managed to get mine down to 1328kg with all mod cons. However Getting to 1300 kg without loosing air con, sunroof or standard door cards looks very difficult. Alloy bonnet lid is a very samll saving. Kevlar/allot doors would make a much bugger difference.

Kevin. Youve done a great job getting to 1270kg. I dont believe it will be easy to go much lower without essentially it becoming a race car...

Cheers

Mine is current at 1275 kg (2811 lbs) with full 92 L gas. Carpet removed, Recaro SPG, single mass flywheel, heather bypass, RS door panel, Matter roll bar, manual steering rack, …..
Still have metal hood’s and sunroof

Richard. Lovely car!
Do you have air con? Thats a very good weight you have and probably one of the better Ive seen for a road car. Do you still have front passenger seat? I see you have some very light wheels and thats probably a good 10kg+ saving....

Cheers

What did I post the yellow car at, just short of 2900? Totally dry.

Funny thing on weight. 10 days ago at the track, I'm 3125-3150 most of the day. Put in my friend at ~160 lbs for a session and the data is pretty much dead even. AIM file, if anyone really wants to get down and dirty with it.

Air con. is still in the car. But air bags are removed all glue from the carpet is removed that felt like glue didn't cost anything in the day. Engine sound deathing is removed. Since is a US modell the bumper shocks are also removed replaced with ROW. Oh and passenger seat is installed but it is a 964 RS seat but soon to be replaced also with a Recaro SPG.
