I have mine installed also! Big improvement compared to my old Blaupunkt Helsinki.

Here is mine installed in my 89 944 turbo. I bought this in August from Becker Autosound and was told it was the last one they had. Great radio with the iPod connector. Bluetooth phone function works perfectly.

A while ago, someone had asked me for a pic.
Here's one of my radio. The pic was taken with flash so you can't tell the display color. It's yellow but I think there was the option of red, too.

It's been six weeks and nobody commented on the radio station I have tuned in just for you Americans. Odd.

AFN Eagle.... I get it. Details, details.....zoomed right over me head. (actually I took notice at first)

The Becker Grand Prix asthetically fit's right in with the 993 interior - now all that's needed is a Mosconi DSP 6to8, (an outboard DSP) or their model One 120.4 DSP/Amp (an outboard amp w/DSP) both units with which to stay technically current ; Pioneer DEX-P99RS or DEX 80PRS as example.

I don't use iPod or iPhone. I'm oldfashioned and listed to CDs.

On the 7990 the face flips down and you can insert your CDs. Run your Ipod / Iphone through the glove compartment. A great set up. The unit also charges any of the later while driving.

I have a Becker Traffic Pro brand new in box if anyone interested.. I don't think it even comes close to the newer units in terms of power output though, but it is OEM Tequipment. This model is the US version.

Couldn't agree more with prefering the old fashioned CD audio playback format to that of the MP3 compression scheme; iPod or iPhone. However the emerging (popular) FLAC straegy when using a iPod or etc., as storage device.... preserves the high fidelity charactor of a CD playback. I'm just saying.....

Directly in the glovebox . Then you choose your music via the unit.

It will be my iPhone so I don't really want to stick it in the glovebox. Wondering if I can route it through where the handbrake comes out.

Open your ashtray and pull out the plastic insert, to make the opening big enough to slide your phone into. This provides a perfect spot to place your phone or iPod and the angle allows the phone to stay in place. You can run the cable into the ashtray and leave it in there. It is easy to grab the phone, make changes to your music etc, then slide it back into the open ashtray.
