Very cool....

We are getting our Entire 993 collection for sale. It's going to take a while to count them all up.
We had the whole 1000 piece collection up for sale, but it's just too much to try to sell to one person. Only a handful of people would want to buy something like that, and you've got to find them. So now we are dividing it up by model: 993, 917, 911, 356, transporters, 550's, #1 356, Boxsters etc.... All Porsches. Nothing else. Even have a 917 engine case for sale.

We are really insane. Time to be cured.

..Transporters? Do you have pictures of those?

Here's a Bentley's Chocolate box in the shape/livery of a 993RS Supercup I found whilst on the road recently ... the Chocolate was Exellent!

JoAnne,

You've posted that photo before and I've never commented but...damn, moving must be a complete PITA for you and Robert! Have most of the models made it through unscathed? Have you kept the original boxes and mounting screws? I'm going to guess...yes. Those expensive-looking display cases seem like they'd be easily damaged.

Moving has been a complete PITA and that is one of the reasons we are selling the collection. This collection has moved 4 times, and 3 of those 4 times have been since since 2007. It takes a week+ to pack everything. We sold all the display cases with our last move when we decided that they were going to be put up for sale. In the four moves we've had very little, and I mean Very little damage to them. Robert has become an expert at packing up the models. We have all the boxes and screws for the models that came with boxes and screws! Many didn't come with boxes at all. The hand built ones and the very rare older ones didn't always come with boxes. When we've had to make a move, they were all hand wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap and cloth. When we were planning on selling the entire collection to one person, the huge boxes that hold all the boxes that the models were purchased in, were going to be shipped along with the collection. Now that we will probably be selling the models as separate collections, it's going to be next to impossible to find and match up models with boxes. With such a large collection it is hard to remember just which models you bought had a box and which one didn't. We will try to find boxes when the models are sold.

We collected all the models because we loved doing it. Now it's time for someone else to enjoy them. The older rare ones are going to be a good investment. Just like the real cars!

Some of the Transporters and the factory fire truck.

This is a one of a kind Transporter and the race car. Both Radio radio controlled. We didn't do the motors or electronics.

This is the full Transporter case along with all the Brumos cars and the 550's and other misc. Porsche models that really didn't fit into any other catagory:

We sold our Train. We got $650.00 for it a year and a half ago. We sold it to a guy from Germany who, when he found out we had one, just had to have it. It was hard to price since there was only 100 of them made and sold at the Porsche Factory. Not many made it to the U.S. I am sure it's worth way more now. Story of our life.... At least I know he'll never sell it. It was like he was buying something he'd wanted his entire life. I'm just smiling at the memory of making him so happy.

As for the transporter ~ It's from right around 1980. If we had to sell it separately we'd sell it for $110.00 plus shipping. That didn't come with an original box.

Guys please send me a PM. I don't want to hijack the thread that Cosmic started.

One of these days (soon) when we get everything un-boxed I will post a FOR SALE ad, of course I will tell the 993 guys first.

Right now I have a few Exoto 935's out of the packing boxes.

Cosmic.... now back to you. Sorry.
