Default Your Rennsport Reunion Treasure

If you could take one of the cars there (street or race, anything you saw at the track or around town) home, what would it be.

Only rule is that it has to fit within your lifestyle. In other words, don't say Carrera GT if you're an Occupy Wall Street type who's a broke, unemployed college grad looking to have your loans written off. Or if you're rollin' in the dough but never turned a wheel on track, an RS Spyder doesn't seem to be the right answer either.

For me, and I'll get a picture up later, it goes back to the 911 that got me into this 37 years ago--the IROC RSR. Only one there, the ugly beige "Fittipaldi" car. But I'd take it. Either that or one of the 935 K3s.

Funny guy. We'll fix you up with one of the 912Es parked down in the 4 cylinder corral.

(For the record, I also liked that Speedster that had the Dean Polopolus "4 cylinder 911 engine." http://www.polomotor.com/)

Good question Ken, I like the caveat about having to fit your lifestyle, having the Gulf #20 917 sitting in my living room probably doesn't make sense (to my wife), so after drooling over two of these this weekend, this would be my first choice.....

The Fittipaldi IROC car's home is just a few miles away in Lexington, NC at David Brown's RENNGRUPPE shop...along with lots of other historic race cars.

If it's "fit my lifestyle" I'll keep what I currently have....If I can dream just a little I'd take the McQueen 930.

Karen's also. I swear I do NOT know what appeals in cars to that woman. (Wonder how many of those were sold to women in their early 50s.)

Good to know. You know, if I happen to be in the area with burglary tools along with my truck and trailer.

Keeping it a little practical, I think I'd take the Guards Red GT2 RS parked near me in the Porsche Corral.

Jim,

It was great to see you again. I saw that GT2RS... I parked Rufus nearby. Nice!

My choice... any one of those RSRs. They remind me of my misspent youth.

Tucked in behind a couple cars at the skip barber school was a new C63 AMG coupe.

Given the fit my lifestyle criteria, I'd take that.

On second thought... I'll take a 904 also. Along with the RSR. Thanks. Will you deliver?

The Jaegermeister RSR or either of the very nice 993 Speedsters.

update: Or even perhaps that yellow 993 RS parked on the grass.
