I have to admit, I'm a bit lost.

It could be because I'm taking steroids and a muscle relaxer for my back...

Hi Andreas,
Well, aside from both being black, look at the lines, they are very similar.
Plus they're both fun and the're both mine!
I just finished building this bike and it came out exactly as I wanted it to be.
So I guess it's my Christmas present!

More details on the bike? Yes...both sure look elegantly styled

I take it from your "build" that this is a custom frame, engine, drivetrain combo? Specs?

I don't see the resemblance. I think if the bike were a different color the lines would not look similar at all.

Ride safe! I rode for nine years until I got hit by a car in downtown Seattle on my way to the office. I am lucky to have survived with no broken bones and was damn lucky to have been wearing my full face Bell car track helmet, still I was knocked unconscious and was ambulanced to the ER where I spent the next 5 hours and $8k. I'm no longer riding having cheated death and survived to be able to have fun driving the 993.

"If I have to explain you wouldn't understand"
I guess that's where this classic Harley helmet sticker fits right in

To the OP, the Harley and their clones were never my style (I had mostly BMW's) but it is a nice looking pair.

Same here. Rode for over thirty years until I hit a mattress that fell from a truck on the freeway. Had a high end helmet on and still got knocked cold and came to with short term memory loss. I also broke several bones. After time and surgery I recovered. Sold the bike and bought a 993 cab.

I think it would still work, even if they were different colors. Both have nice lines.

relentless clinging to form over function to satisfy its consumer bases obsession with an icon??

couldn't resist. they did have a joint engine development project in the past. I like harleys but such a different goal for the majority of their bikes compared to the porsches. Maybe an MV would have more in common

Actually, the 2002/2003 V-Rod was a joint Harley/Weissach/Porsche Design collaboration that I think is the most beautiful Harley every sold. I, like others here, rode in the past until it felt like the 'odds' were catching up to me and got out before my chips were gone ... but I'd even like to have one mounted on a wall in the garage just to look at it:

They are both air-cooled and they both leak oil.
