Some are frustrated wanna-be writers.

Others have a subconscious insecurity that compels them to "protect themselves" by constantly sharing their knowledge, accurate or not. This guy may be both.

Looks like we're about out of time. That'll be $135. Same time next week?

This guy obviously passed adjective/adverb school and hyperbole school with straight A's.

Even worse, where this line in the ad, "This car represents the 993 design superbly and with out a doubt one of the nicest color combinations that were offered." would still be used if the car was Christmas green with a red interior.

Because that's what they do...

I sent a friend of mine to look at a supposedly completely original E30 M3 the other day. Reading the ad you would think that it was written by a literary genius. In the end the car had been painted on the the rear fenders, deck lid and under the front windshield (rust repair). The full service history amounted to a bunch of 17 year old dealer stamps with no supporting paperwork. Now the car has shown up on a well know M car dealers website for $10K more. Ahh the joys of the Internet and the sleight of hand...

With a dealership name like "Wheelz Automotive" (yes, Wheelz with a "z"), I wouldn't expect anything but oily. But that does look like a nice 993.

I'd rather salesmen to continue being sleazy in order to poke holes in their stories or knowledge of the product they are selling. This then puts us in the driving seat when looking to close the deal on the car.

We can walk away and find another...they have to sell the car to make a living.

I know someone who bought from these guys, their words saying "mint" and "best example of a 911 we've ever had" turned out to have some major oil leaks (covered by gunk) and electrical issues that cost him close to 8Gs to fix

Lesson........always get it inspected before buying

But a salesman I can walk away from.

What is worse is when it is someone you work for. One of them in my recent past was such a compulsive liar, he'd give a used car salesmen a good name. The same applies for the present top dog who runs the show and was his boss.

Why does $hit spewing verbal diarrhea always rise to the top?

What annoys me is their little charts that show everything but the tires being in "Excellent" condition but when you call them and mention something like a fully torn spoiler wall you can see in the photos they then say "what do you expect from a 14 yo car"......

I find this post especially interesting because the shop is close by. Can't speak for integrity but would be happy to take a look if anyone is interested in a particular car.

How about "low miles"? Then when you read the ad they've used some kind of algorithm to figure out how many miles have been driven annually vs. the national average for miles driven by professional drivers competing in the Cannonball Run. Usually states something like: Car has very low mileage for its age... (14 year old car with 140K miles only equals 10K miles per year so therefore it has "low miles") or: Condition consistent with its age... (this really means that its thoroughly trashed just as a 14 year old Chevy S10 pick up used as a pool truck would be)
