Default WTB Slate Grey 993

Any one have any leads on any coups? Looking for a nice manual trans, C2, C2S or maybe a TT if the price is right.

It must be Slate Grey on black.

TIA

To be frank, slate grey 993s are very rare...I've probably seen less than 8 and of those 3 were color changed. You may have better luck being proactive and contacting RL's who've posted in the past and inquire about their car rather than waiting for a car to come to market.

I think there is an RS clone in the RL classifieds. Higher mileage, but seems nice. Echo above comments. I've seen maybe 4, and one was a color change.

My midnight blue took me almost a year, and there are more of them than slate grey.

Yeah, I know slate is difficult to find. We will see what happens =)

The one in the classifieds is SOLD.

Thanks for the data. I have been using Autotrader, Tempest (for Craigslist), and fleabay.

I don't have a problem with being patient.

Yes, it will pay off .. these come up a few times a year. You also have to consider Granite Green which is almost indistinguishable from Slate .. I'm still not entirely sure if it's not the exact same color .. and it's almost always coupled with a Marble Grey/Black interior which is seriously stunning.

A contrarian point of view - how long are you willing to wait? Could be years. Also keep in mind that the color is so rare, when one does come available you may be forced to accept it, regardless of condition, care, etc. I love the color also, one of my very favorite. But just be prepared that it could be a long wait. I speak from experience on this point...

Sully- I am willing to wait how ever long it takes. In the mean time, I may invest in a wide body 964 in a pleasant color like Venetian Blue or a nice grey if/when I find one I love. I enjoy my 996 as a DD/hooligan car, but my motivation is to add an air cooled 911 to the posse.

A little encouragement during your long wait.....

SG is one of my top colors too for the 993. Some debate as to whether or not the car in post #39 is SG, but that gets the nod from me. Stunning.......

Didn't know that. Is it rare on a 964 also?

Slate Grey definitely suits the 911 silhouette...and I really appreciate that it still looks clean after a spirited drive.

That Granite Green does not look any shade of green...
