Default Does anyone have experience with these guys? I'm looking for a PPI in Ill.

Does anyone have experience with Perfect Power (Buffalo Grove), Motorwerks (Barrington) and/or Fischer Motors (Barrington)?

The search results pulled up some older data. I was hoping to gather some current data points.

TIA!

Fischer, PP, Midwest Eurosport (Bensenville), Euroquipe (St.Charles) all have good aircooled creds for PPI IMHO.

Fischer provides high quality service, in a facility to match.

I use Eurosport and Fischer is good as well. I think Sol at Perfect Power is very knowledgeable, assuming you get him to do the PPI, but at an excessive price. Just my two cents.

Hawg:

Perfect Power and Midwest Eurosport have both provided me with excellent service.

I haven't worked with Fischer, but I think they've got a loyal following.

Motorworks is a Porsche dealership. I can't comment on their service, but most on this board tend to avoid the OPCs, as their air-cooled knowledge base slips away.

Regards to all.

I forgot about The Exchange. They are a dealership, but they are big supporters of the Chicago Region PCA. I was recently talking with them and they mentioned they have a mechanic with 25-30 years (I cannot remember the exact number) of experience on Porsches and that he is an air-cooled guru. I was completely surprised by this as they had never mentioned this at any of the events they have sponsored. Could be a viable option.

The critically important thing is to avoid the shop that the owner frequents. This is Chicago, as corrupt as you'd expect, and you'll get a very biased PPI if the shop normally works on that car.

Fischer Motors maintains my 993 Turbo and Boxster S. Rick and Peter Fischer run a great shop.

In fact, I was just there today to drop of the Turbo for an oil change, updated UMW check valve oil line, replace MAF sensor, lower valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, fuel filter, and change/flush power steering fluid.

Midwest Eurosport prepares and maintains my race car, and has for many years.
I've found them to be very thorough.

Rick and Peter Fischer are also knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Even though The Other Eric has three patronage jobs with Streets and San, and he's just trying to throw us off with the above, he's right. Find out where the car has been serviced, and don't go there.

(Joe King about the three patronage jobs... Plus I'm wearing my Nomex, Eric, so don't flame me )

Oh yeah, it being Chicago, muscle matters. You might mention when you drop off the car, that you can have a fully armed A-10 over their shop in a matter of hours, if they miss anything.

I literally just had my 993 TT at Perfect Power. Picked it up on Saturday. Sol is a great guy and really seemed to know his stuff. I'd reco him in a heartbeat.

I'll let it go, just this once, only cuz I'm in a good mood after selling 500,000 zip ties to the CPD at $12 each.
