Default Fuel Door Doesn't Close

Hello:

Opened the flap door to fill up but the door does not snap and stay closed. Drove home with the door flapping up and down. Since it is in my plain sight, it makes the driver (me) look extra stoopid. I did notice that if I drive faster than 55mph the wind keeps the door mostly down (not fun when there were a few speed traps and 30mph zones on the way home).

I do see the latch move a little bit when I pull the lever. Is the cable too loose? Has anyone had this problem? I haven't seen too many threads about this on the 993.

Thanks!!

Try moving the latch the door should catch on all the way left.
Mine also seeems to stick a little. When I pull the lever, it pops open. I fill-up, then move the latch a little, then close the door.

When this gets old, I will take the time to fix it!

It is adjustable.
Also, sometimes the **** that you pull manually can get hung up on the inside when you pull it - the base of the **** can hang up on the hole in the dash.
You can also move the latch of the fuel door back or forth by had to get it to catch the door if you are having problems getting it to catch at the station.

Also make sure the cable isn't sticking and causing the latch to remain open.

It's a really simple mechanism. ****, cable, latch. If you take 10 seconds and look at it you're all but certain to figure out why the door isn't staying closed.
