What class autocross? Take a look at the group/class you want to run in see where this car with these mods fits...
Generally a car that is randomly modified will not be competitive.

No kidding. But if you just want to have "fun"........... Of course, then it would make more sense to go sub-$10K for any number of (gasp) Miatas out there. And then you'll find out some guy with an old CRX or something that is more suited to a Lemons race is battling for Top Time.

Convertible 911 P-Cars generally are not good track cars..

Original post specifically said autocross.
I've seen enough open cars out there over the years to not really come down on either side of the issue. Most famously out here was Hank Watts (author of Secrets Of Solo Racing) running a new '86 cab for several years in our Time Trial series, and holding all the lap records. Roll protection a must, of course.
Once you get into wheel-to-wheel and have full safety/bracing, then sure you've got aero drag working against you.

Thanks all for the quick response, I was mulling the idea over. I would have to sell my 964 (which I love very much). I do 5-6 autocross events a year. I am by no means a competitive contender. Just do it for the fun and enjoyment. The car would be for weekend drives, autocross, grocery runner.

If the use is intended as stated above then by all means seems to be a good car.. I do like the MODS list. As others can attest the slippery slope of racing starts @ Autocross!!
