In Gt3's first pic, the black plastic nut w/ a screwdriver slot is the hold down for the front carpets & floor mats. (I'm 99% sure it goes thru both... but my carpets have been out for years, only floor mats now) IF you use these, there is no movement of the floor mats.

Yup, floor mats are not glued; carpet is glued.
Methyl ethyl ketone is the best stuff I've used to get rid of adhesive. Please use a VOC (volatile organic compound) respirator, heavy duty gloves and plenty of ventilation. Smoking is not advised.

There are also holes in the mat and carpet with screws sticking out through them. If you need a picture I'll take one. It there something to put over the screw? And mike, I don't smoke, not my thing!
