Default Glued floor mats

Are the floor mats supposed to be glued to the floor, mine are. I ripped them off and scraped the glue off but just curious if they were supposed to be glued. Does anyone know what kind of glue it is?? I kinda wanna glue it back down again.

They aren't actually floor mats, they are carpet pieces. They're supposed to be loose, not attached in any way. Most people put floor mats on top of them, but I remove them and use floor mats directly over the floor.

How do we know he doesn't have a car with mats that someone did glue down? I missed seeing any pics.

Yup, not enough info to answer. I'd be very surprised if the OP actually pulled the glued-down carpet pieces off since it would involve cutting the carpet. Been through this with the race car.

Why do you need pics? Regardless, the answer is the same - neither carpet pieces nor floor mats are supposed to be glued to the floor of the car there.

Glued floor mats would be unfathomably weird. I suppose it's possible, but WTF?

if the car was bought used, maybe the previous owner glued them because they got fed up with the carpets riding up? I know my dad proposed that idea!! i quickly shot it down.

You can use a spray adhesive like 3M 77 or 3M Foam Fast 74. I have personally used the latter to glue my new carpet down. Just spray both pieces, wait 60 seconds and push into place. Very Strong.
