OK, forgot about OBDII ...sorry bout that. With OBDI, a simple dead battery ("dead" meaning won't start car but there is some juice there) doesn't change anything. I've swapped batteries before and the only thing I had to do was reset the radio and done. With OBDII, I am unfamiliar. Sorry bout that ...and thanks for clearing it up for the OP. Apologies

Congrats on the new car.

OBDII Drive Cycle
Long thread but a lot of good info

A thread I posted on what the tester actually sees.
Tester procedure
Ditto regarding readiness code reset. This happens a lot with garage queens. Drive it consistently for three or four days and go back. And congrats on the car, it's the twin of a 993 C4S I had about 12 years ago.

You should be able to get the radio code from Loren on Renntech.org. For paid members.

Or check the white options sticker under the front hood. Sometimes people/mechanics hand write the radio code there.

I just went through the readiness code hell. The drive cycle is not easy to do. It took me two tries and running a couple of stop signs. You have to have an area of road where you can drive without interruption. A track would be the best place

Should have done this first. It was written on the sticker. Now I have to wait for the WAIT to disappear. Thanks again!

They are a great group of guys. I have worked with them on a few projects now and they have all turned out beautifully.
