And as far as I'm concerned, if someone ends up screwing up and running into me, I'll let them and their insurance company sort it out. I'm not going to be the loser for someone else's eff up.

Going on 38 years accident & claim free.

Whatever you're doing keep doing it. Thats an incredible record given (1) the number of doofuses out on the road and (2) you ride motorcycles, which seems to multiply the risk of an accident with said doofus.

Do u think there is more than $12000 damage to the vehicle? The insurance company might decide to fix it.

Well I did have an inbred kid on a cell phone run into the back of my motorcycle that ended up being written off , but I was stopped in traffic behind another car who was also stopped, so I don't count that.

Trouble with many drivers, they don't scan the area and keep tabs of their surroundings. Had to do that in three-dimensional space up there ^, so down here on the ground, its a no brainer.

So, you're not really 38 years accident free. But you'd make a great politician

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. Not fun. Glad you're okay - is everyone else okay?

This (although c2s vs c4s) seems to be a relatively good indicator of asking price (includes an top end rebuild also).
Figure 35-40k should be your ballpark.. hope it all works out well.

C2S has always been more expensive than C4S in teh past 8-10 years AFAIK.

Normally, I'd say that $40,000 is pushing it for a '96 C4S with 110K on the clock, but your car has a motor rebuild of some sort and a new clutch/flywheel and alternator, so maybe it is closer to $40,000.

You didn't state if you were in the car or not. If you were in the car the insurance company really really needs you to sign the medical release.

Sorry to hear about that.

Mid to High 30's is probably realistic, but they will offer less, agree with the comment about 30K + the car, even if you don't want to part it yourself you could sell it here in a snap for $12K depending on the condition of the remaining parts.

Thank you all for the response. I was in the car, no one hurt. Now awaiting the insurance company proposal. Will advise.
