I always liked the factory metal ball shifter that came on the C2S the best but it is crazy expensive.

Hi guys,

The shift **** is a voodoo **** with normal threads, and the shifter is the RS one from the FD motorsports golden rod package. I cut the top off of the RS shifter and welded on a piece of round stock on and then I tapped the end on with the right thread pitch so it just screws right on. Took the stock shift **** and cut the boot off of it and had the GF sew up the end to tighten up the hole and viola.

The shifter height is slightly lower than it would be with the stock RS shifter and stock **** on it but it works well and isn't a bad reach for me, I love it. The voodoo **** I went with is titanium so it has more heft and the car shifts awesome now.

I have always been a fan on the ball style shifters and I have one of them in all my cars now

Russ, thanks for the info. I love my Voodoo ****! If I can figure easier and more reversible way to install in it'll be on my car.

I've been hoping for TWM to release a Porsche fitment for their M1 Abrams "ball-style" shift ****

Get the Porsche one. Your car is not RUF so personally I would not put that in my car but that is the best out of the ones you posted.

Already have this particular one in my car - except in grey to match the rest of the interior. I also already have purchased the #1 shifter from a fellow Rennlister and it's being shipped this week. I liked the shape and it's Turbo specific. Here is a picture of my existing shifter but since this was taken I have changed the wheel out to be padded and black - so a black shifter will work.

However, we should keep the discussion going - its good to have a thread showing all the possibilities.

Cheers,

Mike

The slate gray metallic OEM ball shifter unique to the C2S is actually not metal but a plastic piece. Not that it really matters. Some argue metal is better but the plastic one in the C2S looks identical and is both lighter and doesn't get hot in the summer to the point where you can't touch it (like the metal piece does).

Here is what my shifter/e-brake combo in my old C2S looked like.

I've since dyed these two pieces black and I still have them boxed up somewhere in my garage collecting dust. PM me if you are interested as I have no use for them anymore. Only as a combo though, I would prefer not to separate them.

There are quite a few good options out there for the 993..

Oh no if you don't have a RUF don't use their shifter,it will be way to dangerous for your pocket and car.

Out of curiosity do you have any pictures of the finished product and an asking price?
