Love it! Now get the blue wheels on there. I agree on doing the door panel inserts and the rear seats.

Nice, but more 1980s than 1990s I think.

That's probably true and makes sense. I just like the look. I was inspired by 80s era VW GTI interiors as well as some pics I saw once of a VW camper with a brown on beige tartan.

Very cool. Any pics of the blue wheels?

I vote for tartan on the rear seats and door cards to round out the package for consistency; but of course, that means more $$.

It's a great idea and a very nice execution .. I think the last Porsche 'tartan' cloth seats offered by the factory were on 944's. I had a yellow 914 with yellow/black tartan inserts that looked awesome :-)

Agreed.

Yes ... but only on the 993 RS America. Just ask Ilko ...

First thing I thought when I saw it .. that would make it look like a 'factory' install and would tie it up nicely. Dude, you and I have the same virus ...

Not my taste, but screw anyone who judges what you want to do to your car...

The rear inserts are next. I still have some of the fabric left just for that. I need a little more money to make it happen. Color matching the roof rack cage to the wheels is next after that.

Cool!!! 60s, 70s, 80s, who cares? I think it looks great and you definitely won't find another like it. As long as you like it, that's all that matters. Personally, I think the tartan looks best when there's more to it than just the front seats. Door cards, rear seats, parcel shelf, etc.

This example of a 76 Turbo is stolen from one of Benton's interior threads:

But don't listen to me, I even like the Pasha interior 928s.

Did you do the door cards yourself? If so, was it relatively easy?

It's Benton's car. It looks like the door were pretty straightforward. Here's his thread about his "interior makeover."

Make yourself a matching Kilt with the fabric also.

Love your entusiasm Michael. Care little for others opinion, your the only one that's gotta be happy with the outcome.

I'd do just the door inserts, not the door panels, in tartan.
