Default FS: 1997 Arena Red 4S - *SOLD*

Update: Just sold this car to another Rennlister. I'll let him do his own introductions, but I'm happy the car is going to a great home - and a great RLer. Gotta love this community!

Thanks to everyone who expressed interest - the response was quite overwhelming. I'll be hanging around and hope to be back soon.

-Eric

-----------------------------------------------------
I had originally posted a short listing in another thread of a Rennlister looking for a 4S, but felt I should create a separate post with my original copy. So here it is:

For sale is my Arena Red/Classic Grey C4S with approximately 88,000 miles. I am the third owner and have all records and receipts since my purchase in August 2005.

This car has been a daily driver, runs strong and has been very reliable. Wear is commensurate with its age and mileage. Oil usage is ~1qt per 1,500-2,000 miles. Rear tires are new and the fronts have ~60% tread. Tool kit includes the 12-point tool & 24mm wrench and the original Porsche air compressor.

The car is lightly modded with:
Roock RS550 Competition Wheels with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires
Bilstien HD with M030 springs and sways (ride height at bottom of ROW +5mm)
KLA strut brace
Euro front bumper
Aftermarket HIDs
TechArt fogs & ducts
LPMMs
Factory RS motor mounts
Factory short shift lever
Porsche OE Big Ovals
Oil cooler fan override switch
Porsche CDR-220 with faceplate upgrade

Recent maintenance includes:
Oil & both filters replaced
Air & fuel filters replaced
New brakes and rotors, front and rear, fluid flushed
Oil leak from oil pressure & temperature sender housing fixed
ISV & VarioRam cleaned
New engine lid struts

In the spirit of full disclosure, I had a slow speed shunt and banged up the right front bumper & fender. There was no air bag deployment and mechanically only a bent tie rod. At that time I took the opportunity to install the Euro front bumper, TechArts and have the paint touched up. Mechanical work was done by Callas Rennsport and the body work by Brace’s, both top notch local shops.

Also of note, several months ago the odometer gear broke. I had this fixed at North Hollywood Speedo. Based on my records, I estimate that the mileage is off approximately 900 miles.

The only known mechanical issue is that the A/C does not work. Living near the coast, I rarely used it and didn’t notice. I believe I factored this into the price, but I’m willing to discuss.

This has been a great driving 993 for me - fun galore & never let me down. But, I'm unable to give it the attention it needs so I'm selling.

Asking $35,000

This is one of those deals that come around once or twice a year on Rennlist that a lot
of people will be kicking themselves for missing out on!

Makes it visible in daylight on earlier 911 cars.

Has Opo put a deposit on the car yet?

Faceplate upgrade is as Ilko describes - basically a brighter display.

PM's received and will respond in the order received - thanks!

You'll have to check the time and date stamp on the PMs and Emails, correct?

Yes - I responding in the order received. Seems like the fairest way. Please check your PM.

I agree: A heck of a deal and it should be sold now. I got one of those deals on rennlist in 2009 and I replied within minutes: "I will buy for asking price pending a PPI. Cash is ready for a quick deal". PPI went well and I drove the car back from Palo Alto to Texas 10 weeks later. I beat a couple of guys that needed longer to make a decision ...

GL with sale. If I need another C4S, I would be all over this!
