I was a Mopar guy too. Got rid of the last one many years ago. When it was time for a mid life "reward" car, I thought about chasing another muscle car. I couldn't buy as nice of a late 60's to 1970 Mopar-Dart, AAR Cuda, TA Challenger, etc(non hemi naturally), as what I got for the money wth the C4S. Driveability is another big issue.

My one buddy who buys and sells cars very frequently, had a Chip Foose built late 60's Chevelle on a heavily modded chassis. Full independent modern suspension, big disc brakes all around, and some sort of injected small block. That car was completely custom, looked old(paint was pretty wild)had a killer stance, and handled like a modern sports car. Big $$$.

Lovely to look at, but WOW where the prices have gone.

I don't think being a Porsche enthusiast and a muscle car/hot rod enthusiast have to be mutually exclusive. It's certainly pointless to compare a 993 to a hot rod but it's not impossible to like both.

Besides having the Ferrari, 993 and Alfa in my garage, a few years back I also used to have a '69 Camaro SS396 and a '58 XK150. The Camaro made a great big block rumble and was loads of fun for what it was.

Variety is the spice of life! Enjoy them all.

Cheers.

Sometimes wanting is better than having. Sometimes.

Thanks! We've owned it for about 20 yrs. now...a very straight, original sheet metal and drive train car. Has taken 1st Place SAAC Popular Vote a couple of times.

I'm a huge fan of well executed hot rods and have a secret love affair with drag racing. My ultimate tow vehicle is a lowrider dually.

I prefer rat rods to hot rods and would already own one if I had the room for it.

If I were accumulating, I'd have some Detroit iron in the pen.

A few years ag, I had a hankering for a V8. Bought a low mile '91 928-it scratched my itch pretty good, and it cornered and stopped.

That bug rod is unreal. How cool would that be to drive?!

No one's here to argue between a hot rod and 993 as they are completely different animals but there's a love of big blocks that I've had since I was a kid so potentially in the future I'd like to get one.

Maybe when I'm older but for now a restored 912 similar to this would be killer (yes I know this is a model and not a real car but how cool would it be as a real car???)

I have never owned a "hot rod", but have owned lots of muscle cars and old cadillacs. I would love to own a GT350 but that will probably never happen. A track modified 1963-64 Falcon is way up on my list of cars to own.
