No, not in Dahlonega. I think the problem in the higher elevations was that the temp dropped fairly quickly and froze the moisture on the roads. The only road currently closed is 180 up in Towns County. We have some north facing stretches of road around Dahlonega that had sand/gravel/salt put down. I'm assuming that will be the case in higher elevations, but I don't know that for a fact.

I took a drive along part of the route this afternoon...Long Branch, Cavender's Creek, Town Creek Church, Damascus Church Roads and 9/19 to Stonepile are all dry and salt/gravel free. 9 north of Stonepile is dry and there were a couple of small isolated spots in a couple of curves where some gravel had been put down but it is off the road now. I didn't get to Suches, but on the way back I did talk with a guy at a gas station who said 129 was dry all the way to Blairsville. I think that everything will be dry along the route Jim laid out. It got into the low 50's today with a lot of sun and the air is very dry. There may be some patches of gravel at some points on the shoulders of the road, but we've had that almost every year.

I'm taking a buddy that just sold his Porsche and needs a P-fix, even if it is in the passenger seat. Are we still doing a stop at 8:15am at Starbucks on 13 before heading out to meet Terry at HD on 400?

We had a great turnout, 16 cars in total. 2 Caymans, 1 997, 2 996's, and the rest were 993's. Roads were great with the exception of some gravel at higher elevations. For those that couldn't make it this year, we look forward having you on this great yearly tradition next year.
I'll be uploading pictures soon once I get them off my phone. I'm sure more will come as folks get back home.
Bart, I hope you feel better soon!
Hapy New Years everyone!
