So how do I add a quote so that it appears in a light blue box? The instructions in the FAQ were not clear...

Click the quotation marks in the bottom right corner

It looks like you clicked the correct icon to make the quotes, but removed the code needed to "close" each of them. Just edit your post and add the following at the end of each of the two paragraphs you quoted.
