Just purchased a home up in Hiawassee close to NC border.

Thanks
There is also Charlie Grant - Grant's European - in Hartwell, Georgia. Very nice guy, and did a great job with my RS Clutch, LWFW, and a few other things.

I saw on another thread that there may be a relatively new Porsche repair shop in Blairsville Ga? Does anyone know?

Thanks again.

I grew up in Blue Ridge (20 minutes west), and my my parents still live there; my dad ("Sportsman") will probably chime in. I haven't heard anything about it.

Kuhl 993 - My reference to Jake Raby was in terms of 4-cylinder cars. I'm not sure he offers comprehensive service for our cars. You'll need to check with him here < http://www.flat6innovations.com/ > to find out.

If you are in the Atlanta area, OTP North, German Car Repair < http://germancarrepair.com/ga/ > is who I use. I've been very happy with their work.

There are several other shops around Atlanta that do excellent work.

Good luck,
Terry

Jake and his team have work out several issue with my '97 including electrical gremlins and the LWFL install. As well as the standard oil change stuff and what not. Although their fortay is the 4 cylinder stuff and the water cooled varieties they are more than capable of working on our cars and doing it well.
Just food for thought. You can give them a call or stop by the shop. They're a friendly bunch of guys. Have not heard anything about the Blairsville shop.

Default Porsche Mechanic in North Georgia

I use a Race Mechanic that has opened his own shop at his home. He is away from home often following race teams as the lead mechanic. He has worked on my cars now for 3 years. Great guy with great knowledge and trustworthy. He is now located in Winder. PM me if you want contact info.

Kurt,
As Guest has said, Charlie Grant in Hartwell loves air cooled Pcars. He (and his brother, Jim) both worked for P dealers in the Atlanta area. Jim chose wooden boat restoration/repair as a career (which is how I met him and Charlie). Charlie runs Grants European Autoworks in Hartwell and has a hard core following. From Hiawassee, go to Helen, Clarksville, Toccoa, Lavonia, Hartwell. Charlie might not be super fast, but most of us would rather have it done CORRECTLY the first time, eh?
When Guest upgrades to a GT3 and donates his 993 to me, Charlie will be my go to guy.
I know him---I trust him.

Thanks for the local resource for vintage VW 4cyl expertise; Raby Motors.
We finally have our uber original MY79 Beetle convertible here in Georgia now - as for the last 15 to 20 years it was storage in Colorado. Thanks!

I've a MY66 T-Bird still left behind in Colorado... some day maybe it will make the drive east... Varoooom.

Thanks.. It will be great to work with a local Porsche owner... Heck I currently have Porsches here from 23 states and no local cars at all :-)

We support Porsche from 1950-2013 with the only exception being the 924/44/68 series cars. We can help, just give us a call.

For some reason people think we are in California... Nope! But we do get a lot of our work from there.. :-)

Call Dean at 706.219.4874 ext 20 to set up time to come tour the facility and we can talk about possibilities. We are by no means a typical "shop" atmosphere, Porsche engines are all that we do.
