Default Rear swaybar & droplink making contact with control arm link

I swapped out my pss9 for Bilstein HD and H & R Springs.

I have TRG rear sway bar and RS drop links.

When I re-installed the sway bar it is making contact with the control arm link when the car is up on jack stands.

Any suggestions since the HD shocks don't have separate adjustability for height and drop link?

FD Motorsport and Tarett make a longer curved rear link you can use.

Not sure if it matters or if this is typical when using those sway bars and sitting on jackstands. They should not touch when the suspension is loaded.

Thank you. I will also double check my ride height. It is supposed to be set at ROW but it seems lower. That would account for the drop link mount sitting higher.

I thought of that (how often is the car suspension going to be fully unloaded), but I haven't installed the delrin bushings yet on the sway bay so it will be an even tighter squeeze once I start tightening the screws.

I ran into the same problem with my PSS10 rear shocks. I had to put a load on the rear suspension (using a floor jack under the brake disk) in order to thread the top end of the drop link holder (on the shock body) into the proper position. I don't know about the HD shocks, but on the PSS10 the ride height does not affect the alignment of the drop link as they are separate adjustments.

Help me out here. I had no idea the sway bar and drop link were to be installed UNDER the control arm. Is this a new method? I honestly don't know as I am running H&R sway bars with OE end links and have noticed no problems but they fit within the confines of the area.

I think it is height dependent...if you are at RS height or lower the sway bar needs to be underneath. Not sure where the cutoff is between under or above.

Change the spring and drop links mounts to RS/Cup style

There should be no contact at any time

The Tarett curved drop links may or may not work. On a very low car they are definitely too long and will need to be shortened
A friend ran into that in his very low(Cup/RSR height) car, on his the RS drop links were the correct length

I'll give Tarett a call tomorrow inquiring about the length of their curved drop link vs RS drop links.

Try loosening the locknut & moving the drop link mount down. It looks like there's about 1/2" of thread remaining.

If you don't want to change ride height that much, or are worried the springs will be loose at full droop, might be able to use a 2nd locknut (per side) as a spacer. Call Bilstein, they can provide the individual pieces separately.

FD motorsports made me some custom length curved drop links for the same setup. HTH

I moved the drop link mount down. The drop link and sway bar clear the toe arm by 2 or 3 mm. The bad news is that the ride height is slammed-i look like a low rider. I will have to add the 2nd locknut.
