Boeing Museum of Flight "Warbirds & 993's" (pics)
Today was a beautiful day in the Seattle area and being as my daughter is an Air Force pilot, we had to take the 993's out for a run to Boeing Field and see the visiting WWII Warbirds display. It is really something to be so close to a B-17 that you can touch it. To look around and see the old timers with their squadron baseball caps on, their grey hair shinning in the sun and their eyes following every curve and rivet, turret, gun, and dimple in the over 70 year old skin of the lady sitting before them gave you shivers...WOW. I have included a few pictures and of course have added the "993" content also. Hope you enjoy

Very cool Randy! I was just at that museum earlier this year - I was by myself and it was cool to just wander around and check things out, but looks like you go up and close to some of those birds - very jealous!
Cheers,

You can fly in one for a tax-deductible charitable contribution with outfits like the Collings Foundation. I surprised my dad with a flight in one over San Diego once. Marvelous experience! Blew his mind. You get to walk/crawl around the plane while its flying about.
Sitting in front if a Norten Bomb Sight over a city in SoCal is a sight to behold.
I flew in a Liberator a few years earlier and it was a more interesting flight for me. Lots of nooks and crannies to get into but the B-17 was still amazing.
The money helps them keep these planes flying and they travel all over the country every year so there's bound to be an event close to you at some stage.
That's two big points events for me as far as my dad is concerned. Second biggie was driving him across the USA which I did a few months ago in a 96' 993 C2 I bought in San Diego and drove back to NC. This also blew his mind. He would have been happy to go in a Prius, he was ecstatic to do it in an air-cooled Porsche.

Wow! Blue sky in Seattle!!
Great pics. Those planes come in to the Tri-Cities too. I'd love a flight on the 2-seat Mustang, but it was fairly spendy, last time I looked. Probably worth it, though.

I saw the vintage bombers flying around and didn't know they had their tour stop in Seattle this weekend. I did the Cars and Coffee deal in Redmond and didn't have time to make it down to the Museum of Flight. BTW admission is free on the first Thursday of every month!

Great pictures Randy. thanks for showing us. The blue sky certainly brings out the best in Iris blue. Terrific colour.
I feel more passion for old warbirds than any car on the planet. Wish my name was Kermit Weeks. Mike, it is a ‘C’.
