@CarreraX ~ AMAZING tips! I've never noticed how much longer the RUF ones are. I love my FDs, but they are so "stubby" compared to this!
Thanks Jakob!

I had a set of FD's and really liked them. The problem is that I was offered the RUF ones and couldn't pass them up. They really aren't longer than the FD's. All that is adjustable with the muffler mounting etc. The thing with the Ruf ones is that they are actually double walled with an awesome up-taper at the bottom. They are really works of art when you look at them. Otherwise, I would still have the FD's. I like the non rolled lip. To me, the rolled lip makes the I.D. smaller and they don't look as good.

Looks good...I think I would spray a little flat black on the inside and make everything blend in and disappear.

I attempted to install these same tips on my 95 this morning. The factory clamps don't seem to tighten down on my muffler ends with the larger Schnelll tip. It doesn't seem to fit right and I can't get a tight fit. Did anyone have the same experience? What was the solution?

Never mind. I filed down the factory clamps for a tighter fit. All good.

I'd think the Schnell tips will be subject to more scraping on driveways and such without an angled contour to follow the bumper profile?

No scraping after a month of use. I'm happy with the product, and you can't beat the price.

Kinda like these?
NLA at the moment. Darin is trying to find a new supplier. This is why I went with 4x4 ones off ebay. Same contoured design. Good value.

Good morning,

refreshing this post about installation of exhaust tips
my car came with some custom exhaust system and tips.
don’t know what the PO installed but (beside sounding really good) the tips don’t meet my tastes.

I then purchased some second hand tips on eBay, sanded them and had made them black as per pic below.
From the pic you can see that precious pipes are WAAAAY longer!!

result of this is that if the previous one (right) stuck out (probably too much) these ones are too short.
the muffler must be non stock and as per pic the tips would remain under the bumper.
mia there any kind of extension to put between muffler and new tips??

This shows how the tip would look if I he to install it to current connection.

Had anyone crashed on this issue?
couldnt find any related discussion.

Below a pic of how it looks.
the new tips I’ve bought are, overall, almost 10cm (4 inches) shorter.
is there any component you’re aware of (a kind of extension) that I can plug between muffler and tip?
or will I have to weld an extension??

This is the previous tip I had installed.
