Default Front Bumperette delete question

Anyone had success having the bumperettes deleted on the front bumper cover and using some sort of filler then respraying? Not sure of how filler would do long term and contemplating just getting a euro BC instead. Any thoughts from those who have done it?

Did it about 5 years ago and seems to be holding up fine. Tapered the edges a lot to avoid creating a clean edge where the filler might tend to crack. I put a little too much filler on one side and had to remove some later so that it would fit over the end of "real" bumper inside. If I were to do it over again, would consider a plastic bumper repair place to "weld" in a piece of plastice and fill.

Mine held up fine until a seagull hit at WGI @120mph, in the subsequent discussion w/ the bodyguys I offered to buy a new Row bumper, they said a repair would do. That and welding up the washer holes really cleans up the front end

Thanks guys. Those are some helpful write-ups. Now just need to find a competent shop with people that understand what it means to CAREFULLY follow instructions. I remember the shop that resprayed my rear bumper cover on my 928 and decided NOT to remove the P O R S C H E stickers that sat in the recessed lettering spaces and then sprayed right over them! Have to laugh at how ridiculous that was looking back at it.... Lord have mercy!

There is most likely a body shop in your area that has done this for others. I'm sure someone will post up a recommended place.

Great mod you won't regret!
