Marc Lieb is awesome! And that time is insane! Especially considering he lifted early in several spots and feathered the throttle in others. What tires was he on?

Was the track moist/wet in places??? Looked like it, but might have just been the reflection, that sun is a bitch at times!
Man that guy is good, and the car is better, haha.

Yes it really is insane. Just watched it again. Full screen, volume up.
Wonder how many laps he took before he ripped off that one. Was it just me or could you sense he felt like this was the one at some point he turned it up?
Curious what the top speed he hit on the straight was (7.25), I had a hard time seeing. The highest speed before that I noticed looked like 300kph coming out of a curve at 2.15 Plus what was he adjusting at 7.25 as he came on the straight?

From 9magazine ...
"All three drivers - former European Rally Champion Walter Rohl, Porsche test driver Timo Kluck and Porsche factory driver Marc Lieb - were quicker than the exisiting record with each lap driving the two 918 Spyder models used, and posted lap times of under seven minutes on numerous accasions." ... "average speed of 179.5 km/h"[111.5mph] ... "on the standard Michelin tires developed specifically for the 918 Spyder."

Until today Sascha Maassen was my go to reference for Nurburgring.
but this is an outstanding lap and something to aspire to. What a great celebration of 50years of innovation.
(....except he muffed Galgenkopf - easy 0.05sec)
