EDIT: Um, ignore the first sentence...I was looking at the forecast for next Tuesday, not NYE...Doh!

If the weather forecast holds, it should be a clear and cool day, but that's a pretty big "if" this time of year. We'll be able to have confidence in the weather forecast by Sunday evening I suppose.

Unless anyone has an idea for a different approach, we can meet at the usual spot at Home Depot at the end of GA 400 around 9:00 AM and take it from there. If someone has a different idea, I'm up for that as well.

Oh, and someone needs to put together a route...And then we'll ignore it.

Dave, what universe are you in?

We are 12 days out. Terry we greatly appreciate your crack reconnaissance to keep us updated on road conditions. I will have a route and map.

Good route we have run before> http://www.kesslerdesign.com/97targa...-Sheet-FNL.pdf

Took a drive up to Blairsville to get Cuban food today. Dry, gravel-free pavement and no traffic or law enforcement. We should be so lucky on NYE.

Might be in as well. Good weather for the turbo this time of year.

cmd4 Might drive down from AVL with you and possibly round up some of the track Dr's if they are off work.

Yesterday I drove part of the route. I went through the mountains ~2m. Roads were empty and dry. There are some fantastic roads. I have no idea why I don't cruise through there more often.
Good news is the oldest (8yrs old) has a good stomach on him as I put him through the ringer in the twisties.

Did a spirited exit off-ramp with the missus the other day in the hope that it might inspire her to accompany me this year. Alas, I will be solo as usual.

A friend of mine just took delivery of a new 991 S, and he might join us. That would be pretty cool.

We've got rain coming in on Sunday, but sun is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday. Cold as usual, but we've had no frozen precip and no salt/gravel on the roads. Assuming the start point is still the Home Depot at the end of GA 400, want to group up around 9:00 AM Tuesday?
