Mines off but I considered putting it back on. My car is lowered and like someone else mentioned I'm worried something will catch one it. I might put it back on and cut some vents in it to aid cooling, but the engine will still be protected.

the factory says about the engine tray

Leave the trans tray/remove the engine tray

There ya go. Don't want to restrict any "sound" from your car. The only "noise" I ever hear is when I am listening for something that may be out of the ordinary. "What's that sound, do you hear that"? Once you have determined it's a mechanical problem, then it becomes noise.

mine is off, it was that way when I got it. I am now at 101k miles and no SAI, knock on wood. Don't know if that impacts the SAI or not, but so far so good. Phil

Driving in extreme temperatures I can tell you for certain that the engine runs cooler with it off, having driven it an entire summer in AZ with it on for one year.

Yes, many have claimed this, but in 19 years of production, no one has been able to prove it definitively with any hard empirical evidence

+1

The only study I saw, which was hardly definitive, showed that the undertray made very little difference in the cylinder head or oil temps.
