Don't believe everything you hear about the sale price of a car from a used car dealer....especially one accused of committing fraud in the past

I think that price is roughly what it would take to purchase a new, nicely optioned 911 S.

I'd bet it was the same car in the post above and I guessed a dealer would sell it for 120K. Even though Dealers like Sloan and Canepa dont post on this forum, you better believe there on it daily.

I have little doubt that Canepa sold the car for the amount disclosed... While I'm aware of the issue with the 993tt that he sold with accident damage, this does not affect his ability to command top prices.

Like him or not, Canepa is an incredibly influential personality in the US classic / historic / racing car scene and his contacts / resources are truly impressive; if you've ever been to the Monterey Historics/Pebble Beach, you'll know what I'm talking about. He is good friends with some extremely wealthy collectors that call on him regularly for astute additions to their hoards. $130k for a low mile 'Canepa' 993s is nothing to many that like the look of the car and have 10,000sf car storage capabilities.

I have no affiliation with Canepa other that having met him a few times over the years.

I'm inclined to think it sold for the price mentioned too. Nurburger said it spot on, guys like Canepa (like them or not) and other higher end dealers remain in business for long because they are good at it. We have Weissach in Vancouver, and again like them or not, the prices they command on some vehicles would put most in shock, but never an issue to sell and their inventory is constantly changing.

Either way this has to be on the higher end of any C2S sale period.

I wonder how much acheron800 sold it to Canepa for. Or perhaps a trade was involved.

Gahhh, that's a lot of money. I think it's time to list the C4S with a 6 figure asking price...
